What is ID Verification and Right to Work?
These checks are required to be done as a part of onboarding all employees in the UK. They are also required to be done as a part of all three types of DBS checks.Â
Our DBS service includes the ability to add on the ID verification and Right to Work check as a part of the order. For British and Irish passport holders this would eliminate the need to look at any manual ID or proof of address documents that is normally required as a part of the DBS ID verification process.
Who Needs an ID and Right to Work check?
All employers hiring employees are required to do ID and Right to work checks on their employees before starting work.
ID checks are electronic checks designed to confirm and verify an employee’s identity. These checks ensure that a candidate is a real person, with their identity verified by an accredited, efficient third-party system.
Each ID background check is performed by cross-referencing a prospective candidate’s ID documents against national databases (including the electoral roll, credit reference databases and telephone databases) and undertaking a liveness check through video capture of the candidate.
When candidates use their British/Irish Passport then their right to work will also be automatically confirmed at the same time.
This is a Home Office compliant system and if candidates pass the right to work through our system then a statutory excuse can be used.

How to Apply for a Digital ID and Right to Work check
We offer two ways to process your Digital ID and Right to Work checks - one as a part of the DBS check and one as a separate service.Â

Results of a Digital ID and Right to Work check is usually instant. There maybe a one hour delay is the ID and biometrics need to be reviewed by the human eye.
