Easy Online DBS Tracking

You can track your DBS application here to find out which stage your application form is at. There are multiple stages to criminal record checks, and sometimes delays can occur due to circumstances beyond our control. DBS online tracking could help you to estimate how long you may be waiting until you receive your DBS certificate. If you notice a delay at any particular stage, you could get in touch with the Disclosure and Barring service directly.

How To Use DBS Online Tracking

To complete a DBS status check, you will need your DBS application form reference, which should have been emailed to you when you completed your application. You will also need to enter the applicant's date of birth.

How Long Do DBS Checks Usually Take?

Basic, Standard and Enhanced DBS checks are typically processed within 14 days. However, there are instances where the check may take longer. If any information provided is inaccurate, then there’s a possibility that the time taken to generate the report will be longer than 14 days. When multiple police forces need to provide data, the likelihood of the DBS checks taking more than 14 days increases.

Can Applications be Fast-tracked?

Unfortunately, there is no way to fast-track your application; however, there are steps you can take to ensure it's completed as soon as possible. This includes double-checking that all the information that you provide is correct before submitting the form.

Alternative Tracking Option

DBS tracking can be done over the phone by calling 03000 200 190. If this method is preferable for you, make sure to have the following information to hand when you call:

  • Applicant's full name
  • Applicant's date of birth
  • Applicant's address
  • Reference Number (Not necessary but can speed up the process)

Once this has been given, you’ll be able to see what stage your application is at.
